With EA Sports College Football 27 officially locked in for a worldwide launch on July 9, 2026, the developers recently dropped a massive showcase detailing what is coming next. The biggest takeaway? They are adding over 100 new equipment items and highly requestedaccessories to make the players look exactly like the real-life college athletes we watch every Saturday. Whether you are building a powerhouse program in Dynasty Mode or taking your custom player to the top in Road to Glory, the immersion is getting a serious upgrade. Here is a breakdown of every single new accessory confirmed for the game so far.



Head & Face Accessories

Let's start from the top. The community has been shouting for better helmet customization for a while, and the developers clearly listened.



Hanging Mouthguards / Mouthpieces: This is arguably the most requested community feature of them all. You can finally have your mouthguard dangle realistically from the helmet facemask. Even better, you can fully customize the colors to match your school's uniform.



Reflective Visors: Clear and dark visors are fine, but nothing says modern swag like a mirrored visor. The new reflective visor option adds that popular mirror look that so many college stars rock today.



Improved Helmet Fit & Tilt: Helmets are no longer going to look like blocky, static shapes copy-pasted onto player models. EA has completely overhauled the fit system so helmets sit naturally on a player's head, complete with realistic tilting.



New Facemasks: A bunch of additional modern facemask styles have been added to the game, accurately replicating the specific variations worn by today's college standouts.



Torso & Uniform Accessories

Moving down to the uniform itself, the developers are focusing heavily on the "drip" factor and how modern athletes actually wear their gear on Saturdays.



Cropped & Rolled-Up Jerseys: If you want your star wideout or speedy cornerback to sport that trendy, short-jersey look on the field, you can now explicitly choose cropped or rolled-up jersey options.



Smaller Shoulder Pads: The days of oversized, bulky 90s-style shoulder pads are gone. The game is resizing and lowering pad profiles to perfectly match the lightweight, streamlined aesthetic worn by modern, fast-paced college athletes.



Updated Undershirts: Layering has been improved across the board. Undershirts now look more natural underneath the jersey, and you can tweak their colors to fit your style.



Captain Patches: You will now see position-specific designation patches clearly visible on the jerseys of your team leaders, adding that extra layer of authenticity on the field.



Lower Body & Waist Accessories

The customization does not stop at the waist. EA is addressing some specific gear trends that fans have been noticing in real life over the last couple of seasons.



Single Leg Sleeves: This has been an incredibly anticipated style trend. Instead of forcing compression gear on both legs, you can now equip a compression sleeve on just one leg for that distinct, asymmetric look.



Team-Logo & Branded Towels: Instead of generic white hand towels, you can now equip towels featuring official school branding and logos tucked into the waistband.



Waist-Mounted Play Sheets: For the players who need the scheme right in front of them, wrist coaches or play-call sheets can now be worn clipped directly to the waistbelt.



Custom Thigh Pads: You will now notice specialized protective inserts subtly visible beneath the uniform pants, adding another touch of physical realism.



Specialized Team & Coach Gear

Finally, the update covers team-specific details and even gives the coaching staff some love on the sidelines.



School-Specific Backplates: Team-branded protection plates are officially in. You will see iconic text and mantras, like Notre Dame's legendary "Play Like a Champion" slogan, featured right on the backplates.



Coach Apparel: The sideline staff will not look generic anymore. For the very first time, coaches are getting branded footwear, alongside a fresh selection of custom team hoodies and pants.



Sleeve Combo Gaps: On the technical side, EA improved their graphical layering. This means the game accurately renders the spacing between undershirts, arm sleeves, and wrist accessories without any ugly clipping or overlapping textures.
